What Holds Me

enjoy my drawing :)

God's Word is not and can never be fragile, but our belief can be.

I saw this video of a man who is only alive because of the word of God (the man was about to take his own life and prayed to God for help and the gun jammed). Then I thought, "This man is only alive because of God. He talks about God, has grown in wisdom over the years (I follow him on TikTok), the only thing stopping him from his old self and possibly no longer being here, is God and His word."

This is literal. Physically alive and spiritually alive.

And that's the point. God's Word is LITERALLY doing what He said it would.

Then I thought about this pendulum where on one side is death and the other is life and the only thing holding this man towards life was God's Word. And I said, "It would only take a bad day or one thing to not work the way he'd want it to in faith, for him to die.

Then God said, "That would mean his faith was fragile, not Me or My Word."

This stopped me in my tracks because now I'm looking at where my faith is fragile; where my belief is fragile. Where I don't think something is possible: And it's my constant trust, belief, and expectancy in outcomes rather than just in God.

I don't know the outcomes to situations I'm in right now, like, no idea. But I do know that I am becoming and already am someone in God. And that's all I need. I don't need to believe in a specific outcome, just in the fact that I am walking with God and that this means that the force holding me up is stronger than my own understanding of the things going on around me.

Certain outcomes not happening the way I wanted doesn’t make the pendulum swing the other way. That’s God’s Word in full effect. My faith doesn’t make His Word strong, and my doubt doesn’t make it weak. My faith is simply learning to rest on what was already true. That means God’s Word is doing what He said it would. And if His Word is what’s holding me, then I have proof that His Word is not fragile and could never be.

My faith is only as steady as what I place it in. And when I place it in God’s Word, I’m resting on something that does not move.
