No failure

Given that I’m here now, on this website, because God told me to do this, I can’t help but speak about the space that I felt. A space in which I know a lot of those walking with Christ have now and have had before. Coming out of being of the world, and now being in the world and not of it, my expectations have to change. I remember building this website, and a small voice in me said, “Will this even work? What if when I do this, it ‘fails’?” And in hindsight, it’s like, why would I expect death (failure, or my idea of failure) in God’s kingdom (God’s way of doing things)? Why expect death in life?

In 1 Samuel 3:19, it says that Samuel grew, and God was with him as he grew, and not a single word that came out of Samuel’s mouth came to be unfulfilled. God called and wanted Samuel to be a prophet, and since Samuel obeyed, sought God, and grew with Him, not a single word that He spoke failed. Not one, not any. This highlighted to me that when you’re in God’s Will, there is no failure. There is no death (things not growing or being established). I can’t fail with this, or with anything I’m doing, because all that I seek to do is the Will of my Father in heaven. And His Words and His Will, never fail. So what I expect must change. I have to let go of what I believe failure is. Just because something doesn’t work out or look the way I thought it would doesn’t mean that I “failed”. We fail when we stop seeking God; that’s failure. And as long as we seek His will to the point of obedience, there is no failure. Obedience never equals failure. Obedience is the activation of God’s Word, and if you are being obedient, His Word is doing what God sent it to do…which means there was success.

In Psalm 34:5, it says that those who seek and look to God are lightened or are radiant. Radiant means sending out light and shining brightly. And if all I want is to do God’s will, then all I can do is be radiant. If I commit to seeking God and His Will, then all I can do is shine and be His living word. All I can do is be the successful word of God. He spoke, I obeyed, and now I am His word that went out and has not gone back void. I came back fulfilled. I am what God intended when He spoke. Which was God’s original intention for all of us. To be His word living. That’s why Jesus is our example. He was and is the living Word of God.

There is no failure in this. There is no failure in doing what God said. Obedience is the bridge that moves God’s Word from something heard into something lived, experienced, and fulfilled. And if His Words are being lived, experienced, and fulfilled, then that means that the purpose of His Word being spoken has been accomplished.
